Four Principles

Project California is organized around
four key principles:

Building paths to prosperity and opportunity. Prosperity is key to our families’ well-being. Can we find work that pays the bills and makes us happy?  Will we be fairly treated? If we need help to compete fairly, where can we turn? Our ethnic and cultural diversity is part of our economic strength. If we provide the tools to maximize the benefits of our diversity, we will lead the world.

Keeping our families healthy, safe and thriving. Many of us make choices based on what’s best for the future of our families. Are they safe? Can they get a decent education? Do they have access to quality health care? When we address our concerns about these matters, we can more effectively meet other challenges.

Preserving the land we love to live in. California’s ocean waters, mountains, forests, and rivers are treasured natural resources that make our state a uniquely wonderful place to live. But they are more than that. They are an economic asset that attracts businesses and workers. How can we preserve our natural resources, while continuing to create prosperity? How do we enjoy the natural beauty of our land without loving it to death?

Making sure California’s government delivers real value, fairly and efficiently. What are the critical tasks we need from government? How do we get that work done fairly, with good quality and at a reasonable price? How should we allocate the burden of who pays for government services?
